With whole year sunshine, Dubai has plenty of sand and sun. A day at the beach is an irresistible option for locals and visitors to enjoy rest and relaxation. If you’re on a budget, you can enjoy one of the many free beaches that are easily accessible by car, boast changing and bathroom facilities and are located near affordable cafés and restaurants.
Or, if you’re looking for something more luxurious, curl your toes in the sand at one of Dubai’s many five-star beach clubs. Take a dip in the pool, followed by a swim in the sea, and let your beach butler attend to your every whim.
Whether you’re here for watersports or just want to find peace among the serene waters, Dubai has it all. Here is the list of the beaches in Dubai:
Al Mamzar Open Beach 1 – Spread out over 106-hectares, Al Mamzar Beach features four pristine beaches as well as a large section with manicured lawn, swaying palm trees, winding foot and bike paths, three pools, and an amphitheatre for the kids. While there are food kiosks throughout, Al Mamzar also offers many pleasant grassy areas for a picnic. If you’re in the mood for VIP treatment, Al Mamzar also offers a choice of air-conditioned, rentable chalets.
Black Palace Beach – Black Palace Beach is one of the city’s secret gems, with a location that’s easy to miss but well worth the scouting mission: between the royal fortresses at Al Sufouh lies a tiny pathway that takes you to this land of pure relaxation.
Free of flying volleyballs and rowdy crowds, this untouched shoreline possesses beautiful views of Palm Jumeirah and the Burj Al Arab. So venture off the beaten track and discover this intimate bay.
JBR Beach – The waters are fairly calm here and popular with bathers, and the hotels offer a variety of watersports such as parasailing, wakeboarding and banana boating that anyone can sign up for, as well as camel rides. It is by far one of the most fun, family friendly beaches in Dubai, and the skyscrapers of Marsa Dubai provide a spectacular backdrop to your activities, all just a quick stroll from the cafe culture of The Walk.
Jumeirah Beach – The glorious Jumeriah Beach lies along Dubai’s coast, providing stretches of soft white sand on which to relax and play. Jumeirah Beach boasts the best hotels and activities in the Emirate, with much of the credit belonging to its crystal clear waves.
Make your way to hotels like the Jumeirah Beach Hotel or the seven-star Burj Al Arab to join in on the water sports that their private beaches offer. If you’re not a hotel guest, you’re welcome to relax at Jumeirah Beach Park, open to the public. You can barbecue, hit the beach cafés, or simply grab a mat, lay back, and take it easy on the soft sands while the sun sets.
Jumeirah Open Beach – Suitable for soaking up the sun, swimming and people watching, the public beach has lifeguards, shower and bathroom facilities. A good mix of foreign and local beach dwellers take advantage of the sand, water and nearby jogging track. There are a few places to grab snacks and drinks too.
Kite Beach – Kite surfers and spectators unite at the popular and well-named Kite Beach, situated across the way from the Al Manara Road Junction. With watersport operators available along the sand, you can rent equipment and test your skills against the emerald waters of the Arabian Gulf. Afternoons are best for those who want to challenge the elements, as that’s when the wind picks up and the waves follow suit.
Want to simply sit back and enjoy the kite surf show? Children’s play areas and a great view of the Burj Al Arab also promise a memorable beach day.
Sunset Beach – The calm sands of Sunset Beach, located behind Sunset Mall in Jumeriah, provide the perfect location to relax with the sun, sand, and picturesque Arabian Gulf. It’s one of the quieter spots along the coast, and also one of the widest, providing a beautiful opportunity for morning jogs and strolls against the setting sun.
Located not too far from Kite Beach, the tranquil spot lets you sit back and relax as you watch kite surfers perform their stunts.
